“Heat, Haze, and a Quiet Realisation”

It didn’t feel like climate change. It just felt like… another hazy, hot day in Malaysia.

Just recently, I stepped out and paused. The air felt heavier. The heat lingered longer and the haze… subtly returned. Not strong enough to alarm, but enough to make you notice. And it made me wonder: "Is this how it has always been… or is something quietly changing?"

We often hear about climate change in reports and global discussions. But here, it shows up differently.

In Malaysia, we’ve been experiencing it in our own ways: • The familiar return of haze seasons • Longer heatwaves that drain energy and health • Sudden floods that disrupt entire communities • Rainfall that feels less predictable than before

Climate change, at its simplest, is this: 👉 A gradual shift in temperature and weather patterns 👉 Influenced by how we live, produce, and consume 🌍 And perhaps this is what matters most

It doesn’t always arrive dramatically. Sometimes, it arrives quietly; In slightly greyer skies In warmer afternoons In small disruptions that slowly become “normal”

A thought that stayed with me ; Maybe the question is no longer “Is climate change happening?” But “When did we start getting used to it?” And more importantly -

"What should we start paying attention to again????"
